"Oh Creator, I give you thanks..."

At one time, millions of Bison roamed North America. In less than 200 years they were nearly wiped out by man's greed and the desire to eliminate the food source of the Plains Indians.

Thanks to the foresight and vision of a few people, today, there are over 300,000 Bison in both private and public herds throughout North America. This page is dedicated to some of the people and organizations that have helped them survive.

Clicking the "Awards" box will take you to Little Feather Interpretive Center in Pipestone, MN

The center is run by Chuck Derby and is named in honor of his brother who passed over. Chuck does much to assist the Dakota People and to educate people from all over the world. He is also very active in issues that continue to harm his people to this day...........................

This artwork was taken from a thank you card created by 8 year old Mariah McKinney. Mariah is learning about Native Americans and their culture. She has visited Cedarvale Farm and seen Bison "in person." This is one of the main reasons that Paul & Emily Hines raise the Bison on their farm. Beautiful drawing Mariah!
